UPDATE:
President Obama has ordered an additional 30,000 troops to continue depleting human lives and resources in Afghanistan. More pointless violence, and a pointless occupation. I just don't get why he did it (besides having no courage and buckling under pressure like no other). I am just so disappointed. Guess it's time to take down my poster of him...

So, as RAveN-838 has asked, "Wicca For Men?" What has gotten into my dear atheist's head? I guess I'll spill the beans...

For a while now, I have been a firm believer in the power of the four physical elements, and ESPECIALLY the fifth element of spirit (or Akasha if we want to be technically accurate). I basically believe that through everything in this universe exists a spiritual energy (which is why that thing exists in the first place). Everything is comprised of spiritual energy. All sentient beings possess souls, which is what makes them sentient and self-aware. We (all people) and our souls are all connected to each other through this overarching spiritual force (the fifth element). The four physical elements are what define the physical world, while the fifth element is what defines the soul, defines all living things. Anything which is not living is of the four physical elements.
(That's it in a nutshell)

My personal spiritual journey (and the way to find perfect harmony with everything in the universe) is to become completely aware and connected to the four physical elements, and allow yourself to become completely engulfed and enveloped by the fifth element, and become at complete peace with everyone (all souls) and everything in the universe (allowing the spiritual energy of the universe to flow through you). Kind of similar to some Hindu (the third eye) or Buddhist beliefs. I have felt completely connected to all four of the physical elements (individually) at different times in my life, and the experiences have almost fallen down on me in the form of blissful epiphanies (so to speak).

However, I have yet to feel that necessary connection to all of them. I have yet to experience the energy of the universe flowing through me and everything, I have yet to become completely at peace and connected to everyone and everything. My personal journey is to become one (so to speak) with the fifth element. Wicca may be my way.

I have learned all about the basic beliefs of Wicca, and I have found that it is basically what I believe, just with a slightly different emphasis on some things. Rather than specifically believing this whole idea of an overarching spiritual force connecting all souls and elements, Wicca describes the God and Goddess as filling that role. Minus that one little dissimilarity, I am basically Wiccan. When I am in awe of the four elements, so are they. When I submerge myself in deep thought and feel my own spiritual existence, they view it as worshipping the God and Goddess. Their God and Goddess are my spiritual existence. If they can become connected to the God and Goddess, I can become connected too (even if I think of it slightly differently).

And it's as simple as that. I believe I may soon be responding to the "religion" section of any questionaires with "Wicca."
